The Jewelry Aquarium will be displaying 2,000 ornamental fish within a pop-up cafe space in Aeon Laketown, located in Koshigaya City, Saitama. The exhibition and cafe will be open between June 12 through July 7, between 10 am to 8 pm. Night tours (rsvp required) are also available in limited numbers between 8pm to 8:50 pm, and 9 pm to 9:50 pm.
Asia arowana and betta are some of the fish on display. Descriptions of the “jewelry” - or ornamental fish - can be seen by using an AI guidebook called “LINNÉ LENS” (Japanese only). The app can be used to search 30 fish for free within the facility, with the location feature of your smartphone turned ON.
The organizer's aims in planning a night tour of the aquarium is to become a showcase for nighttime activity in Saitama Prefecture . There are facilities in Tokyo that target the night economy, but it is still rare in the surrounding areas. The tour will take you around the aquarium with explanations by the producer of the event - explaining the concept of the aquarium, in addition to details of the fishes. Only 840 night tour tickets are available, and a maximum of 20 people per session.
